The former Warehouse 7 site at the Port of Burgas has been proposed as the location for the Eurovision Village for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, according to Eurovoix and Novinite. This agreement was reached on 12 October between Transport Minister Georgi Peev and Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, pending European Broadcasting Union (EBU) approval.

Proposed Eurovision Village site

The site, formerly known as Warehouse 7, was confirmed as the proposed location for the official Eurovillage by Mayor Nikolov after discussions with Minister Peev, Novinite reported. Mayor Nikolov stated that the area would undergo a thorough cleaning and preparation process to meet the EBU’s stringent requirements before their official inspection. The EBU’s approval is a critical and necessary step before the site can be officially designated as the Eurovision Village.

The Eurovision Village traditionally serves as a vibrant, central hub for fans and delegates throughout the Eurovision Song Contest week. It typically offers a diverse programme including live performances by former and current Eurovision artists, large screens for public viewing of the semi-finals and grand final, and various cultural activities and food stalls. Its strategic location at the Port of Burgas would place it in a prominent and easily accessible area of the city, likely enhancing the fan experience. Transport optimisation plans

In addition to the proposed Eurovision Village location, the city of Burgas is actively planning to optimise its transport network in anticipation of the contest, as reported by ESCToday.com and BTA. This forward-looking initiative aims to significantly improve connectivity both within the city and to the surrounding popular coastal areas, accommodating the large influx of international visitors expected for Eurovision 2027.

The plans are expected to involve enhancing existing public transport options, such as bus and shuttle services, and potentially introducing new routes or increasing frequencies to facilitate easier movement for attendees. Improved transport links are considered crucial for enabling visitors to comfortably travel between their accommodation, the main venue Arena Burgas, the proposed Eurovision Village, and other tourist attractions. What this means for your trip

The selection of the former Warehouse 7 site at Burgas Port for the Eurovision Village offers visitors a clear focal point for fan activities. This central, easily accessible location could be a key factor in deciding where to stay for Eurovision 2027, as it provides a convenient base for immersing oneself in the contest’s festive atmosphere.

Furthermore, the announced commitment to optimising transport infrastructure in Burgas indicates that travel within the city during the Eurovision period should be more efficient and less stressful. This will particularly benefit those arriving at Burgas Airport and simplify commutes not only to the proposed Eurovision Village but also to the main concert venue. While specific details regarding new transport services or routes are still pending confirmation, the proactive steps to improve connectivity represent a positive development for all prospective attendees.
