Staying in Nessebar for Eurovision 2027
The closest character base to the arena, split between a UNESCO old town with very few rooms and a new town that carries the volume. Slightly nearer Burgas than Sunny Beach.
The short version
Nessebar is a UNESCO old town on a peninsula plus a modern new town, and it sits 35 to 45 minutes from the arena. The old town has few rooms. The new town has most of them.
What Nessebar is
A UNESCO World Heritage old town of wooden houses and Byzantine churches on a small peninsula, joined to a modern new town on the mainland that carries the actual bed stock.
The two halves function differently. The old town is a working museum piece: cobbled lanes, small guesthouses, and a genuinely limited number of beds, because there is only so much peninsula. The new town is ordinary coastal development, hotels and apartment blocks, with far more rooms and a shorter causeway walk into the old town than most visitors expect.
Of the two coastal resort bases, Nessebar is the one with a landmark on the doorstep rather than a short excursion away, which is the honest reason to prefer it over Sunny Beach if the room count works out.
Getting to the arena from Nessebar
Arena Burgas is ~33 km away, a 35 to 45 minute drive off-peak, marginally closer than Sunny Beach. The return trip after a show ending near midnight is still the part to plan.
Scheduled buses south to Burgas stop running well before a late show ends, so the journey home needs a pre-booked transfer, a coach timed to the show, or a taxi negotiated at the rank. Burgas Airport to Nessebar is a shorter run than the one to Sunny Beach, and the old town changes exactly where you want to be dropped.

Nessebar Old Town is itself the strongest non-show-day destination on the whole coast, which is a genuine advantage of staying here over staying somewhere you would have to travel to see it.
