The short version
Pomorie is ~ 20 km and 25 to 30 minutes from Arena Burgas by car, and 15 to 20 minutes from the airport. It has fewer rooms than the resorts to the north, and a shorter night home than any of them.
What Pomorie is
A small town on a narrow peninsula, sea on one side and a salt lake on the other. Mud baths, a salt museum, a long beach, and none of the high-rise resort fabric of Sunny Beach.
Pomorie sits on the coast road between Burgas and Nessebar, which is the reason it matters for contest week: it is the first town north of the airport and the last before the resort strip. That geography gives it the shortest arena run of any coastal base and an airport transfer short enough to be a taxi rather than a plan.
What it lacks is volume. The accommodation is apartments, guesthouses and a handful of small hotels, so it fills early and it does not absorb a crowd. If you find a room here, take it.
Getting to the arena from Pomorie
Arena Burgas is ~ 20 km away, a 25 to 30 minute drive off-peak. The return after a show is still the leg to plan, but it is half the distance the Sunny Beach crowd is covering.
