Key Participation Updates for Eurovision 2027

Broadcasters across Europe are actively confirming their intentions for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. North Macedonia’s MRT has announced its return to the contest in Burgas, Bulgaria, following a five-year absence, according to ESCToday.com and ESCXTRA. Similarly, Montenegro’s national broadcaster RTCG confirmed its participation in the 2027 event, as reported by Eurovoix, ESCBEAT, eurovisionfun.com, and ESCXTRA.

Ukraine’s national broadcaster Suspilne also confirmed its participation and has already opened the song submission window for its national selection show, Vidbir 2027, according to ESCXTRA. These early confirmations provide a clearer picture of the lineup for the upcoming contest.

Countries Seeking Extensions or Postponing Decisions

While some broadcasters are moving forward, others require more time to finalise their plans. Slovenia’s public broadcaster RTVSLO is set to discuss its participation in the coming days, with a decision still pending, as reported by Eurovoix and ESCBEAT. Eurovoix and eurovisionfun.com further noted that RTVSLO had received an extension from the EBU to confirm its involvement.

Iceland also received an EBU extension to confirm its Eurovision 2027 participation, according to eurovisionfun.com. Spain’s RTVE Board of Directors has postponed its decision on participation, as stated by Eurovoix and El Constitucional. Belgium’s Dutch-language broadcaster VRT has also been granted an extension by the EBU to decide on its involvement, Eurovoix reports.
